Bioregional Herbalism: The need for local, ethical and non-extractive dispensaries We want herbalists with dirt under their nails. Herbalists that know how to identify plants, and know how to care for ecosystems as well as people. We want people care to be a reflection and extension of a broader care; a tending to biomes and living systems, both inside and out. Join Taj Scicluna as she discusses the need to localise herbalism, and how to do this both on a home and industry scale. Taj Scicluna is committed to spending her life in meaningful service, focusing on the preservation of ecology through the lens of Herbal Medicine. She does this via the medium of art and education, exposing people to the wonderland of flora, so we may see value in sustaining, protecting and relating with the natural world. Understanding something is one thing; explaining it is quite another. Taj prides herself on her facilitation skills, creating comfortable, supportive and engaging environments for Botanical Eduation. Offering insight and experience in dispensary skills, deep understanding of herbalism, materia medica, herbal formulation, medicinal gardening, wildcrafting, and both the science and ritual of earth connection through a botanical lens. The main aspects of her work are Workshops, Courses, Mentorship and Herbalism Consultations, where she creates her own Herbal Dispensary from grown and wildcrafted herbs for her Clients.
