Join us for a Wurundjeri Cultural and Indigenous Plant ‘Walkshop’ with Googar, Wurundjeri Cultural Educator and new Narrap Ranger Jack George, along Edgar’s Creek in Coburg North. Learn about Wurundjeri Culture on Edgar's Creek, explore its deep connections to Traditional Owners, discover local Indigenous plants and their traditional uses, and understand the importance of this living cultural and ecological landscape. Together, we’ll explore how we can care for and restore this special waterway, honouring its cultural heritage and protecting it for future generations. ------- This is an outdoor event and will go ahead in all weather, so please come prepared with hat, sunscreen, rain jacket, water bottle etc. The track has uneven terrain, so participants are encouraged to wear suitable footwear and dress accordingly. Please get in touch for accessibility information or if you have any questions. Photos will be taken at this event, but there is an option to opt out on the day. This My Smart Garden event is proudly presented by Merri-Bek City Council and Newlands Neighbourhood House as part of NECCHi's Buath Gurru Garden Festival. It is being held on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and acknowledge that First Nations peoples have cared for Country sustainably for tens of thousands of years. Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally. My Smart Garden | Instagram | Newsletter
