Full description from organizer

Safety to Success: What Small Businesses Need to Know in 2026 Protecting Your Business, Your People, Your Future This practical session will help small-business owners and managers understand their WHS responsibilities and what they are reasonably expected to have in place. The session will cover: • Common safety myths that can leave small businesses exposed, including assumptions that WHS requirements do not apply because a business is small, low risk or uses contractors. • What business owners and managers are responsible for, including the practical steps they should take to manage safety when working with employees, contractors and subcontractors. • What effective safety management looks like in practice, and how businesses can show that risks are genuinely being managed—not simply documented on paper. • Psychosocial hazards in small business, including workload, role clarity, workplace behaviours, support and consultation, with practical and proportionate ways to identify and manage these risks. Having clear, current and practical safety arrangements can also help businesses respond more confidently to client requirements, tenders, audits and contractor prequalification. An evening option for this workshop will be held on October 29. Find out more here.
