Everyday Conversations: Being an Active and Ethical Bystander - Fremantle Park

This workshop empowers participants to take safe, ethical, and confident action when witnessing harmful language and behaviour. In recognition of 16 Days in WA and through practical tools and reflection, it explores how everyday language, microaggressions, and stereotypes can reinforce discrimination and create the conditions for more serious forms of violence. Participants will leave with: • A clearer understanding of their role in creating safe and inclusive workplaces and community groups • Practical tools for intervening safely and effectively • Confidence to act in the moment, even when it feels uncomfortable • An awareness of how gender, race, and power shape who gets heard and who gets harmed The workshop will be held at Walyalup Civic Centre, 151 High Street Fremantle. Please check in at reception and a staff member will take you to the training room. Refreshments are provided.
