Join Forge Gymnastics Education for a practical coach education workshop focused on progressing giants from straps to wooden bars, as well as the flyaway dismount. Presented by Cody Gribble and Alicia Hayes, this workshop will explore the technical foundations, progressions, spotting and coaching considerations involved in developing these high bar elements. What we'll cover: • Technical breakdown of giants and the flyaway dismount • Drills and progressions for giants and flyaways • Physical preparation for giants and flyaways • Common errors and how to address them • Spotting techniques and coaching considerations The workshop will help coaches understand the technical aspects of these skills, how to identify what may be limiting an athlete, and how to select appropriate progressions, drills and coaching strategies to safely develop these skills. Presented by: Cody Gribble Cody is the Founder of Forge Gymnastics Education and has over a decade of gymnastics coaching experience across competitive and recreational Women's Artistic Gymnastics programs in both Australia and Canada. As an Advanced WAG coach and Gymnastics WA Presenter and Assessor, she is passionate about providing practical, evidence-informed education that coaches can apply immediately in the gym. Alicia Hayes Alicia brings 25 years of coaching experience in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, working with athletes from foundational levels through to high-level competitive pathways. As a FIG Level 3 (High Performance) WAG Coach and Head Coach of the WAG program at Perth Gymnastics Academy, Alicia brings extensive expertise in athlete development, technical foundations and safe skill progression, alongside her background in exercise science. Alicia is committed to coach development and enjoys sharing her knowledge to help coaches build strong, effective programs. Practical spotting opportunities: The workshop will include opportunities for coaches to practice spotting techniques. If you would like to participate in the practical spotting component, you will need to bring your own athlete. Athletes will not be provided by Forge. Athletes will not be expected to progress through every drill presented during the workshop. Please email Cody prior to the workshop to discuss arrangements. Forge yourself... in chalk.
