MASTERCLASS: Ride the Architect Elevator with Gregor HohpeConnecting the IT Engine Room with the Executive Penthouse A 3-day, in-person masterclass with globally renowned IT strategist Gregor Hohpe — author of Enterprise Integration Patterns and The Architect Elevator, former Smart Nation Fellow to the Singapore government, and advisor to Fortune 500 leadership teams. When: Tuesday 1 – Thursday 3 December 2026, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AWST each dayWhere: Anzac House (The Anzac Club WA), 28 St Georges Terrace, PerthSeats: Strictly limited to 15, to keep the coaching genuinely interactiveWho it's for: Enterprise/Cloud/Solutions Architects, Tech Leads, Principal Developers, Engineering ManagersThe challenge this addresses Great technical solutions don't deliver value if they aren't connected to business strategy — and the more powerful our technology gets, the harder that link is to maintain. As Gregor puts it: "If the tunnels don't meet, drilling faster won't help." This masterclass is about closing that gap: translating between the language of developers and the language of executives, so architects can make their function visible and valued at every level of the organisation. What you'll learn Across three highly interactive days — lectures, group discussions, hands-on exercises, and real-world case studies — you'll work through the Architect Elevator framework itself (Penthouse, Middle Floors, Engine Room), how to translate technical choices into strategic business options, how to navigate organisational politics and sociotechnical constraints, and how to use diagrams and expressive metaphors to engage C-level stakeholders without dumbing things down. What's included Three full days of training and coaching with Gregor, a comprehensive digital workbook with templates and frameworks, a free copy of Gregor's book 37 Things One Architect Knows About IT Transformation, gourmet lunches and refreshments each day, an official certificate of participation, and networking with Perth's senior tech leaders in a room small enough to actually talk to everyone in it.
