✏️ Making Mini Zines Turn your ideas into a tiny comic with a big story! In this fun and creative workshop, participants will learn how to make their own mini comic zine from start to finish. They’ll explore drawing, lettering, visual storytelling and simple folding techniques to turn their artwork into a little handmade book. Your story can be anything you like a wild fantasy adventure, something funny that happened to you, an imaginary world, or simply something you want everyone to know! Participants will experiment with different ways to show action, emotion and personality through drawings, while discovering how words and images can work together to tell a story. No previous drawing or comic-making experience is needed, just bring your imagination and a story to tell! 🌟 What you’ll learn: • Create your own mini comic story • Explore drawing and lettering techniques • Learn how to show action and emotion through images • Fold and assemble your own zine • Discover the basics of visual storytelling Perfect for: Young people who love drawing, storytelling, comics or simply trying something new. Who is this for? Children aged 6-12 What to bring: Comfortable clothes for messy crafts and a willingness to have fun. Spaces are limited - bookings essential. Participants will have the opportunity to exhibit the artwork they create during the My Story My World workshop series in the Youth Exhibition in October 2026. If you are unable to attend the workshop, please let us know as soon as possible so the place can be offered to another participant. Healthway supporting West Australians to connect to themselves, each other and the community through arts and culture. Ellenbrook Cultural Foundation Incorporated proudly partners with Healthway, to create a healthier, more connected Western Australian community for our children and young people. This series of workshops is part of the Creativity and Wellbeing for Young People program, funded by Healthway and delivered in partnership with the Kids Research Institute Australia and their SEW-ART Framework, with support from Ellenbrook Youth Centre, Ellenbrook Central and the City of Swan.
