Philip Lako: The Ten-Year-Old Man at Stirling Libraries

Join Stirling Libraries for an inspiring conversation with Philip Lako, author of The Ten-Year-Old Man, a powerful memoir of survival, resilience and hope. Abducted as a child during the Sudanese civil war and forced to live as a child soldier for almost a decade, Philip survived unimaginable hardship before escaping to Kenya and eventually finding refuge in Australia. In his memoir, he reflects on his journey from war torn South Sudan to building a new life in Western Australia. Through storytelling, personal reflection and discussion of his experiences as an author, mentor and advocate, Philip will explore themes of resilience, identity, purpose and belonging. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. About the Author Philip Lako is a Western Australian author, mentor, advocate and public speaker.
