The Fiddler and the Bard - DARLINGTON with international cellist Carina Drury

Join us at Darlington Hall for an evening of music and storytelling with international guest cellist Carina Drury. The Fiddler and the Bard is a celebration of Irish and Italian music in 18th-century Dublin. When the Italian virtuoso Francesco Geminiani met Turlough O'Carolan, Ireland's great bard, he challenged him to compose in the Italian style. The result was Carolan's Concerto, and a meeting of two great traditions. Hear their story on violin and two cellos: heartfelt Irish airs, laments and dances alongside elegant Italian sonatas.
