Toby’s Estate presents: Toby's Cup Tasters - Perth In collaboration with the WA Community Coffee Championship Committee. It’s been a minute. We’ve missed having you lot around, so we’re opening the doors again for another night at Toby’s. This time, we’re putting your taste buds to work with Toby’s Cup Tasters — a night of good coffee, friendly competition and seeing who actually knows their stuff when there’s a little pressure involved. Whether you’re here to compete, cheer on a mate or just hang out, come down and get amongst it. We’re hoping to see plenty of familiar faces — and meet a few new ones too. Trust your taste buds. Bragging rights are on the line. ONE GRAND PRIZE 🥇 1st Place $1000 Visa Gift Card All competitors will also receive a goodie bag on the night! COMPETITION FORMAT 36 competitors. One winner. HOW IT WORKS 5 minutes total for 5 sets. Two cups are the same, one is different. Find the odd one out. ROUND 1 — THE FIRST SIP 36 competitors → Top 6 All 36 competitors take on the first round in groups of six, across six heats. Each competitor will be put to the test identifying the odd cup out of 3 cups. Scores and times will be recorded across all six heats, with the top six competitors overall moving forward. ROUND 2 — THE CUT Top 6 revealed Time to find out who made it through. We'll announce the six highest-scoring competitors from The First Sip, who'll move straight into the next stage. ROUND 3 — THE TRIPLE THREAT 6 competitors → Top 2 The remaining six are split into two heats of three. Heat 1: 3 competitors Heat 2: 3 competitors The strongest competitor from each heat progresses, leaving us with our final two. FINAL — THE LAST SIP 2 competitors → 1 winner It all comes down to this. Our final two go head-to-head for one last round of cup tasting. Best palate takes it. One Toby's Cup Tasters Champion. HOW SCORING WORKS Accuracy comes first. Speed breaks the tie. • 1 point for each correct cup identified. • Maximum score: 5/5. • Competitors are ranked first by the number of correct answers. • If competitors finish on the same score, the fastest overall time takes the higher position. Get them right. Then worry about being quick.
