Voices Unleashed - Unplugged Open MicSunday 27th of September at Sans Bar, South Fremantle WHAT IS VU UNPLUGGED?​To say 'Unplugged' is an open mic is to say a tomato is a fruit. It's a night of art and a whole lot more. This evening will be the first in Perth, and the first in Australia. A new chapter is building, led by one of our co-founders, Nicole de Malmanche.Unplugged is one of the longest running open mics in Bali with 104 editions behind it & chapters running in Amsterdam, Brooklyn, and Santo Domingo. It is an open mic more about 'opening' hearts than performance.Expect poetry, music, storytelling, comedy, dance and live art to cycle through these nights.Unplugged is a safe space to connect with wildly amazing humans and artists.And by the end of the evening you'll leave with a touch of magic, love, vulnerability, and a real sense of belonging with people who are cool in their craft and heartwarming at the same time. Unplugged is just that- completely unplugged. Artists will share in an intimate space without a microphone, creating intimacy and connection.EXTRA INFO*Doors open 5pm, event starts at 6pm. *Non-alcoholic bar & bites open from 5pm. *Open mic sign up: We have 8 performer spots available. These tickets will open on the 13th September. Please choose 'performer spot' when selecting your ticket. Please specify if you will be doing music, poetry, spoken word or story telling. For performers: Please come prepared and ready to share your art. We will move seamlessly throughout the evening. Musicians, please bring your own instruments. *Please arrive early to secure your spot and order drinks & bites. There will be no cocktails served during the event but other drinks will be available. Please note that Sans bar is a non-alcoholic venue. *We will take a 20 minute break halfway for ordering drinks, bathroom breaks & connecting with each other. CLOSING ACT Hanky van P is a solo artist on acoustic guitar and vocals, performing curated covers and soulful originals with folk, grunge, and jazz influences and the occasional operatic run. Her strengths are in her storytelling and unique voice.
