AAA Self Drive tour: At Home (NSW)

Please join AAA for our November At Home event when we will be opening a residence in Balgowlah by Misho + Associates Balgowlah Family Home Please join us when we will be opening a residence designed in 2005 by award winning architects Misho+Associates. Misho+Associates’ architecture showcases an intimate relationship between form and function. Their architecture highlights environmental initiatives and credentials that are becoming increasingly critical to the sustainability of the projects Misho+Associates undertake. The Balgowlah house owners commissioned Misho+Associates to design a new home in which they could raise a family and become part of the local community. The brief called for a comfortable, enduring family home that responded to its’ setting and enhanced the surrounding environment. Landscape priorities included restoring substantial areas of native vegetation and creating planted corridors to encourage native birds and animals to move across the site. Wherever practicable, materials were recovered from the old house and reused in the new residenced, including: Bricks; timber for sunscreens on the western façade; crushed roof riles for ground cover around new gum trees. The home combines insulation, thermal mass, solar access, external shading and natural ventilation for passive heating and cooling. Interior finishes were selected for their emissions, durability and maintenance requirements. Explore this remarkable home and hear owners David and Tania share their experience of living and raising their family in this home. Don't miss out, so book now.
