AI governance for charities and small businesses: use AI with confidence | tekFoundation Learning Lab

AI can save your team serious time. The good news is that using it well doesn’t take a big compliance program or a tech background. It takes a few simple, sensible habits. In this practical Learning Lab, Gaurav Chauhan walks you through a practical approach to AI governance built for small teams. You’ll leave knowing which tools and uses are a green light, where a quick check makes sense, and how to set up easy guardrails that help your people use AI with confidence. You’ll learn: • How to tell low-risk everyday uses from the ones that need a bit more care • A simple traffic-light guide your staff and volunteers will actually remember • The handful of short documents that give a small organisation real clarity • Smart questions to ask before signing up to any AI tool • A realistic 30-day plan to get started, plus the questions your board will want answered Built on current Australian guidance from the National AI Centre, OAIC and ACNC, and designed to be practical, not paperwork. Who it’s for: Leaders, operations staff and board members at charities and small businesses. Program: • 8:30–8:45am: Arrivals and check-in • 8:45–9:30am: Presentation • 9:30–10:00am: Questions and networking Can’t make it in person? Every ticket includes the recording of the presentation, so you won’t miss out. Recording will be sent after the session is concluded and will include the presentation (not the questions or networking portion). Free for tekFoundation members tekFoundation members attend free.
