Altura Nova

Reuniting after many years performing together in the tango-jazz group Alturas, Stan Valacos (7-string guitar) and Gaye Thomas (flute) join forces once again, this time with Nigel Harris (accordion), to form Altura Nova. Bringing together three seasoned musicians with a wealth of experience across diverse musical styles, Altura Nova draws on the rich musical traditions of Brazil and beyond, offering a fresh, expressive take on choros, bossas and Latin melodies, with a touch of jazz. Vibrant, soulful and full of rhythmic charm, Altura Nova makes its debut at Gasoline Pony for an evening of beautiful melodies, infectious grooves and spirited musical interplay. 🐴🐴🐴 Limited seating, arrive early for best options.
