Barker/Mielczarek/Fujisaki + Longlist

Barker/Mielczarek/Fujisaki + Longlist (Hill/Undy/Green/Tucker) Barker/Mielczarek/Fujisaki There is something thrilling about the musical chemistry between Simon Barker, Nick Mielczarek and Hinano Fujisaki. Combining drums, guitar and saxophone, the trio embark on an exhilarating journey through sonic possibilities, creating music that is spontaneous, unpredictable and deeply conversational. Following a memorable first performance at 21 Shepherd Street, they return for a second exploration of improvised music. Longlist (Hill/Undy/Green/Tucker) Jess Green joins the Gabriella Hill Trio, featuring bassist Cameron Undy and drummer Alex Tucker. One of Australia's most distinctive and versatile guitarists, composers and improvisers, Green brings a wealth of experience spanning jazz, contemporary music, experimental performance and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Together, the quartet will perform a mix of improvisations and compositions, using compositional frameworks to shape improvised dialogue and create music that balances structure with spontaneity. An evening of adventurous music-making from four generations of creative Australian improvisers. Doors: 7:00pm Music: 7:30pm Tickets: $25 full | $15 concession Come and misbehave. Art isn’t comfortable here — and neither, probably, are you. That’s exactly the point.
