Burra Korain: Matt McMahon | Piano

Matt McMahon | Piano Album Launch Acclaimed Australian pianist and composer Matt McMahon launches Burra Korain, a compelling new solo piano album inspired by the ancient landscapes, histories and personal memories of the Grose Valley in the Blue Mountains. Drawing on decades of walking, camping, canyoning and exploring the valley, McMahon transforms place into sound. The music traces a journey through ridges, creeks, waterfalls and escarpments while reflecting on the rich cultural, historical and environmental stories embedded in the landscape. At once a musical landscape, memoir and meditation on memory, Burra Korain invites listeners into a world where geography, history and personal experience become inseparable. Intimate, evocative and deeply Australian, this special album launch presents one of Australia's most distinctive musical voices in a rare solo performance.
