🧠 Expo Genius Math Tournament – How It Works A confidence-building, high-quality mathematics competition designed to challenge young minds and reward accuracy, focus, and problem-solving. This tournament is created for primary school students who enjoy thinking, reasoning, and tackling increasingly challenging maths questions in a fair, supportive environment. Participants compete individually in their own school-year division, ensuring fair and age-appropriate competition. 👧👦 Eligibility Open to primary school students in three divisions: • Year 1–2 • Year 3–4 • Year 5–6 Each child competes only within their own age group. ⏱ Competition Format This is a 60-minute written mathematics tournament. • Total Questions: 40 • Questions increase in difficulty across four sections • No calculators, notes or electronic devices allowed Children will complete the paper independently in a supervised competition room. 🧮 Scoring System (Accuracy First) Questions are grouped into four sections with increasing difficulty: Section Marks per Question Section 1 1 mark Section 2 2 marks Section 3 3 marks Section 4 4 marks • Marks are awarded only for correct answers • No negative marking This rewards both foundational skills and higher-level problem solving. 🥇 Ranking & Tie-Breaking 1️⃣ Total Score Students are ranked by their total marks. Higher scores always rank above lower scores. 2️⃣ Time Taken (Tie-Breaker Only) If two students have the same score, the faster submission ranks higher. Time is measured from the official start until the paper is handed in. ⏳ Early Submission • Students may submit their paper before the 60-minute limit • Once submitted, answers cannot be changed • Time stops immediately upon submission ⚖️ Fair Play • No talking or copying • Any form of cheating may result in disqualification • Organizers’ decisions are final 🏆 Competition Prizes (5 Award Categories) To recognize effort, achievement, and excellence, prizes will be awarded across five categories: • 1st Prize • 2nd Prize • 3rd Prize • 4th Prize • 5th Prize (Award criteria are determined by the organisers.) 🚫 Parent Access to Competition Room To ensure fairness and independence: • Parents and guardians are NOT permitted inside the competition room • The room is supervised by official invigilators • Parents may wait in designated waiting areas outside 🚫 Parent Access to Competition Room Once the competition has started: • Parents and guardians are NOT permitted to enter the competition room • The competition is conducted in a designated, supervised room with official invigilators This ensures a fair and distraction-free environment for all participants. 📝 Independent Participation Consent By enrolling, parents give consent for their child to: • Remain independently in the competition room • Complete the paper without parental assistance • Participate for the full 60-minute duration ⚠️ Disqualification Policy To protect fairness for all students: • If a parent or guardian enters the competition room during the test, the student will be disqualified • This applies regardless of reason • Organizers’ decisions are final 👧👦 Child Safety & Supervision • All students are checked in by staff • Supervised at all times • Safe, controlled competition environment Part of Kids Enrichment Expo 2026 This competition is part of Kids Enrichment Expo 2026, a weekend dedicated to early education, enrichment programs and skill development. 👉 Expo entry is free 👉 Math Tournament requires a separate competition ticket Families are welcome to explore the expo before or after the competition. 🎟 Tickets & Registration Please register each child separately. • Limited seats per age division • Each ticket is valid for one child • Early booking is recommended This tournament is not about pressure — it is about focus, confidence, accuracy, and celebrating mathematical thinking.
