Gilles Peterson - Liner Notes: Tales from Down Under

An intimate storytelling and cultural journey featuring Gilles Peterson & Rob G (Galliano), that reveals music’s extraordinary power to connect people and shape culture. Sydney audiences are in for a rare treat this November as globally renowned broadcaster, DJ, and musical tastemaker Gilles Peterson brings his unique Liner Notes experience to The Vanguard, Newtown, for one night only. Liner Notes: Tales from Down Under is a special sit-down evening where Gilles “joins the musical dots,” blending music playback, personal reflections on Australia, and cultural storytelling in a format he calls “radio for your eyes.” From jazz to club culture to Tubeway Army, and moments from Cologne’s Café Campi to the dancefloors of London and across the world, Peterson will guide audiences through a rich journey across genres, eras, and geographies. Accompanied by stories, poems, and candid insights from his decades-long career, Liner Notes celebrates the deep and sacred power that only music possesses with its ability to bring people together and hold them. This one-off event offers a rare opportunity to enjoy Gilles Peterson in an intimate and reflective format, connecting audiences to the stories behind the sounds that continue to influence generations worldwide.
