Landcare Youth Campout

Landcare Campout for Young Adults Join Greater Sydney Landcare's for an awesome weekend getting back to nature! This is a great chance to connect with peers, learn new skills, and have fun in the bush. When: Saturday, 17th October - Sunday, 18th October 2026 Where: Hornsby Park then camping at Crosslands Campground The Weekend's Activities Get ready for a packed weekend of fun, learning, and nature! Here's a taste of what we have planned: • Saturday 17th October: • Exclusive Tour of Hornsby Quarry • Be part of the ecological restoration at Hornsby Park with a bush regeneration session and planting • Travel to our second location: Crosslands Campground • Chill out with lawn games in the afternoon. • Gather around the campfire for a BBQ dinner. • An exciting night-time spotlight tour. • Sunday 18th October: • Nature walk with bird and plant specialists • Breakfast • Kayaking along Berowra Creek • Water monitoring • Lunch Food All meals are provided. What to Bring • Tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, and pillow • Torch or headlamp • Camp chair and/or picnic mat • Wet weather gear and warm clothes (just in case!) • Enclosed running shoes or workboots (something you don't mind getting dirty) • Long-sleeved shirt and long pants for activities • Hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent Transport We recommend you have your own transportation as we will be travelling to the campsite on Saturday afternoon! Hornsby Station is within walking distance to our first location then we can arrange carpooling. If you need help with transport, Greater Sydney Landcare may be able to arrange something, subject to availability. Please get in contact with us to discuss your options. This initative is made possible by the NSW Landcare Enabling Program, a collaboration between Local Land Services and Landcare NSW supported by the NSW Government and Hornsby Shire Council.
