Join Anna Voytsekhovich PhD, Botanist, Ecologist for a presentation about the different life forms of lichens, their morphology, ecology, and physiology. Anna and the Bushland team will identify lichens growing in the area, explain their role in soil formation and soil erosion control, plant decomposition, food chain, air quality identification, geoformation, and lichenometry. Mosses, that sometimes grow alongside lichens, will be discussed to a lesser extent. Please wear sturdy enclosed shoes with good grip and sun protection including a hat and sunscreen. Toilets located in Primrose Park. Recommended for people 12 years of age and older.
