Full description from organizer

Beyond the NDIS: Accident, Catastrophic Injury & Government-Funded Care Provider Pathways NDIS/SIL Provider Breakout Session, part of the NDISDA® Sydney Hospital to Home Forum The disability and complex-care environment extends beyond the NDIS. People who sustain serious or catastrophic injuries may receive rehabilitation, attendant care, disability support and long-term assistance through state-based accident insurance, lifetime care and other government-funded schemes. For NDIS and SIL providers, these systems can work very differently, with separate registration or approval processes, funding arrangements, governance requirements, service authorisation, reporting expectations and workforce requirements. This dedicated provider session introduces the broader funded-care landscape, with a focus on icare NSW and the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme, and an overview of comparable state-based accident and lifetime-care schemes across Australia. You’ll gain an understanding of: • Alternative government-funded care pathways beyond the NDIS • How icare NSW, the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme and other state-based injury and lifetime-care schemes operate • How provider requirements differ from the NDIS • Registration and approval pathways • Attendant care, complex support and coordination opportunities • Governance, compliance and workforce considerations • What to consider before operating across multiple funded-care systems New South Wales: icare NSW & Lifetime Care An introduction to NSW’s catastrophic injury care environment and the opportunities for disability and complex-care providers, including: • Accident and catastrophic injury care pathways across NSW • icare NSW and the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme • Provider registration, approval and eligibility requirements • Attendant care, personal care and community support services • Care coordination, rehabilitation and support planning • Supported accommodation and complex care arrangements • Home modifications and assistive technology • Acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and long-term support needs Provider readiness If you’re considering diversifying beyond the NDIS, the session will help you ask the right questions: • Is our workforce appropriately skilled? • Do our governance and compliance systems meet the requirements of another funding environment? • Can we support people with catastrophic or complex injuries? • What additional registration or approval requirements may apply? This session isn’t just about how to register with another scheme. It’s about understanding the broader accident, rehabilitation and catastrophic injury care environment, and the organisational considerations involved in working within it. Understand the pathways. Understand the requirements. Assess your organisational readiness. Who should attend • SIL and supported accommodation providers • Complex care and high-intensity support providers • Registered NDIS providers • Disability support and attendant care providers • Support coordination and specialist support coordination organisations • Community and in-home support providers • Allied health and rehabilitation organisations • Disability accommodation providers • Assistive technology and home modification providers • Organisations supporting people with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and other catastrophic or complex injuries • CEOs, directors, and operations, compliance, quality, clinical governance and business development leaders Please note: This is a separate, provider-only session. It is not part of the Hospital to Home Cross-Sector Roundtable. Ticket price: $175 per person Want more?
