Offline Book Club - Silent Reading Session 30 Sep

• Admission to the private venue • A drink on arrival (wine or non-alcoholic options available) • Light snacks • The chance to leaf through the Broad Church Library and titles suggested by Literary Luddite • Two hours to read, journal, and meet new people Event schedule (below timings are approximate, and just to give you an idea of how things run!) 6:30pm: arrival, introductions, mingling ~6:45 - 8:15pm: focused reading time. Speaking is not completely forbidden, but keep in mind people are here to read! People often report the first ~30 mins they struggle to focus, but after this passes they hit their stride and are absorbed into reading for the next hour. 8:15pm - 8:30pm: discussions among the group about what you've been reading, how you found the session, exchanging book recommendations etc. Other admin: • Kobos / Kindles / eReaders are allowed! iPads might be pushing the friendship • If you don't have a book there will be a selection of titles for you to borrow for the duration of the event • You can read anything, or use the time to write or draw. Just keep your phone away as much as possible Come alone or bring a friend, just make sure your phone is on do not disturb!
