Spring Studio #1: Piped Clay Ornaments with Ebony Russell

Explore the decorative and ornate possibilities of clay with ceramic artist Ebony Russell in this 3-part workshop series. Channelling her signature style; icing-inspired piping, intricate layering and ornate, sculpted flourishes, Russell will guide participants through ornamental object decoration. This first session will give an introduction to Ebony’s signature piping techniques and methods borrowed from cake decorating. Participants will create small ornamental objects or hanging decorations while experimenting with piping, repetition, layering and decorative excess. Working with air-drying clay, you'll shape a delicate ornamental piece, perfect for a Christmas gift or to keep for yourself.
