Sydney at Dusk: Landscape Photography with NiSi Spend a relaxed evening photographing Sydney as the light changes from late afternoon into dusk and night. We’ll start at Observatory Hill at 6pm, using the elevated view to work through composition, exposure and how to read a landscape before the light starts to disappear. From there, we’ll move to a second location closer to the harbour as the city lights come on. That second half of the evening will be focused on long exposure photography, reflections, moving water and the mix of natural and artificial light around Sydney Harbour. The workshop will run from 6pm to 8:30pm and we’ll keep it to two locations so there’s enough time at each spot to slow down, try different compositions and actually make photographs rather than constantly moving. I’ll be guiding the group throughout, talking through what I’m looking for, what I’m changing and why. The team from NiSi Australia will also be there with filters and tripods for people to try during the session. We’ll look at how filters can help control the scene, extend shutter speeds and give you more creative options as the light changes, without turning the night into a technical product demo. There’ll be NiSi gear available to try throughout the evening. This is designed to be practical, social and easygoing. Two locations. Changing light. Plenty of time to shoot. Bring your camera, and comfortable walking shoes.
