The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Part of Randwick City Council's Town Hall Takeover. The Sorcerer's Apprentice invites audiences of all ages on a magical storytelling adventure, perfect for young people and families. Featuring a live narrator and chamber orchestra, this enchanting performance follows an eager apprentice whose attempt to use magic without guidance quickly spirals into an unforgettable adventure. As the chaos unfolds, audiences discover themes of courage, responsibility and wisdom through a captivating tale. Composer Ryley Gillen's original score draws inspiration from Paul Dukas' iconic symphonic poem, famously featured in Disney's Fantasia, while honouring the spirit of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's 18th century poem.
