Transgender Futures: Career Conversations

Formatted as a panel discussion with audience Q&A, Transgender Futures is an event by and for transgender people, targeted at uplifting and empowering transgender undergraduate, postgraduate, and HDR students' career aspirations. Meet non-binary, trans-femme and trans-masc professionals working right here at Macquarie University. Connect with gender-diverse people across different careers, life stages and generations. Our panelists work across chemistry, ecology, politics, writing and biology. Come ask the questions you may not get to ask elsewhere—about career concerns, workplace experiences, being out professionally, finding supportive environments, or simply what the experience of building a career has been like for the panelists. Come enjoy catered food, play games, win prizes, and hear trans professionals share wisdom through lived experience. *Transgender is used here as an umbrella term inclusive of people whose gender does not align with the sex they were assigned at birth, people who identify outside the gender binary, and people who otherwise identify with gender queerness. Hosted by MQ Ally Network, Nat Sci DIB Committee, and FMHHS D&I Committee
