Ma Ma Creek Disaster Planning and Farm Mapping Workshop

Map your risks with practical disaster preparedness support. Join us for a practical, hands-on day focused on understanding the risks to your property and what you can do to be better prepared. This session will provide participants with an opportunity to identify key natural disaster risks and impacts and explore how mapping can support disaster preparedness and recovery. Through interactive activities, discussion and real-world examples, participants will develop practical insights and tools that can be applied in their own communities and farm. You’ll get an A0-sized (bonnet-sized) map of your property, along with other useful resources, to assist you in developing your farm plan with a focus on natural disaster preparedness. Experts will be on hand to discuss all things flood, fire and drought, helping you explore opportunities and be better prepared for the future events mother nature may bring. The day will also provide an opportunity to learn more about the Drought Preparedness Grant (DPG) and the support available through QRIDA. Smoko and lunch provided. Registration deadline: 15 October 2026 to receive a printed map. Limited spaces available! The Queensland Government’s Industry Recovery and Resilience Officer program, which is jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments under Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), has contributed to the delivery of this initiative by Rural Solutions Queensland.
