The Giving Market Townsville 12.12.26

Hello and welcome to the Giving Market - Townsville Edition! Saturday 12th December - At MaryWho? Bookshop - Booking required! We have spent 2026 collecting high quality unused + preloved items to create a market full of beautiful things. We are so excited to share it with you on Saturday 12th December! (Mark it off on your calendar now). How does it work? You sign up here for free. Each guest receives 4 tokens for free when they arrive at the market. (If you are coming along with kiddos, they each will receive 4 tokens too - no age limit!). • Every item at the market 'costs' 1 token • You use your tokens to 'buy' 4 items you like at our market • Thats 4 gifts, for yourself or a loved one, for free! Time slots To join, please book a free ticket by selecting the time slot you would like to attend. We have allocated 40 minutes for each time slot, so you can browse leisurely. Your time slot is indicated clearly on the ticket option you choose. We have set aside separate time slots for 'Parents + Bubs' and 'Silent Shopping' for guests that would like to shop in a like-minded space. Please only select these options if our descriptions fit your preference. Click 'Check Availability' to book your tickets! Where are we? We are delighted to be hosted by indie bookstore Mary Who? Bookshop located in Fairfield, 4811. The bookshop is outside of the main Fairfield mall - opposite Bunnings and located in-between World Gym and Pet Barn. There is free parking space right in front of the shop. Late Night Christmas Shopping at Mary Who? Bookshop The bookshop will be open for late night Christmas shopping at the same time as our market: 2-8pm. Please feel very welcome to browse their bookshelves before or after you time slot with the Giving Market or come along between 2-8pm for an evening browse. Please make sure to pay for the books you find in the Bookshop! Staff and volunteers will be there to help make it very clear where the Giving Market 'begins and ends'. From 5.20pm-6.40pm our Giving Market is hosting 'Silent Shopping' sessions, so please be mindful to browse quietly in the Bookshop if you choose to visit during this time. Need any assistance or would like to donate to the market? If this is your first Giving Market, our market volunteers and Bookshop staff will be on hand to help guide you through the process! If you have items that you would like to donate or have questions we can answer ahead of time, please email: [email protected] and we will get in touch! You can also speak with one of our organisers, Erin, in person at Mary Who? Bookshop. She is a part-time bookseller and hosts the shop Monday-Thursday afternoons and all day Sunday! We are so excited to see you there! Erin + Sarah + The Giving Market volunteer team! Some quick answers to common questions! • You do not have to donate items to the market in order to attend our market! We genuinely don't expect that. • If you have items to donate, please donate in advance of the 12th December. This helps us to organise and set up the market in time for guests. • The market is entirely volunteer led, with volunteers donating their time. • No-one receives payment for their time - including our organisers, Erin & Sarah. • We do not sell any items that are donated or make any financial gain by running the market. • We rehome and donate any 'unsold' items at our market to appropriate local organisations. We spend time finding the best solution possible for each item. • Any costs incurred from hosting the market are accepted by Erin & Sarah from their personal funds. • Erin & Sarah's motives for hosting the Giving Market is to celebrate the art of giving; to help make the holiday season as inclusive as possible by alleviating the burden of spending; and to create an opportunity for an eco-friendly holiday season + sustainable gifting!
