Author Talk with Catherine DeVrye at Wollongong Library (Ages 18+)

Award-winning international speaker Catherine DeVrye will take you on an epic journey around the world. Catherine's inspiring new memoir, Beyond Timbuktu: Journeys of Hope & Humanity, reflects on the lessons she's learned from travelling to more than 150 countries across all seven continents. Through an A-to-Z journey which starts in Albania and closes in Zimbabwe, she shares unforgettable experiences including trekking to Timbuktu, swimming off Yemen and sharing pizza with Syrian refugees in Serbia. Through these remarkable encounters across cultures and borders, she reveals a simple but powerful truth: there is far more that unites us than divides us. Catherine is a bestselling author, cancer survivor, Olympic torch bearer and former Australian Executive Woman of the Year. She has twice been named Australian Keynote Speaker of the Year and is known for her inspiring and engaging presentations. Catherine has pledged that all author royalties from this book will be donated to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).
