Turn your idea into a Short Film using your smart phone or tablet! Bring your story or create one on the day and through one or more of our workshops, discover how you can turn your idea into a short film with your smart phone or tablet. Valley Shorts Short Film Compeition has become a fixture in the calendar with two successful seasons and a third coming. This day of three workshops will upskill first timers and those who have played around with filming. 9-11am Kids & Family Workshop 12-2.30pm Filmmaking with your Smart phone 3.30 - 6pm It begins and Ends with Story Angela Blake, screen writer, filmmaker and founder of SF3,the international Smartphone Film Festival, will share her insights built over 15 years of the compeition. In this workshop she will focus on:- • How an idea becomes a story with a beginning middle and end • Going from story to film script - choosing the genre, creating the characters • The film crew in your pocket - a technical lesson on everything from shot composition, audio, lighting and editing and the various apps and equipment that make filming easier and higher quality • Working as a crew - planning your shoot and getting it red carpet ready • An introduction to eidting Valley Shorts competition encourages film makers of all ages and skills with prizing to reflect that. In 2027 the prizes will be $1000 for Best Film, $750 for Young Filmmaker (16-25) $300 for the Junior Filmmaker (Under 16), $500 for the Family Filmmaker , $300 for Best Use of the Theme/Prop and $500 Peoples Choice Award.
