Plein air in Your Pocket with artist Sarah Anderson

Local artist and horticulturalist Sarah Anderson will lead this free creative workshop as part of the Eco-Lab 2026 residency @ the NASA Gallery at the Servo. A workshop for capturing moments outdoors through sketching on paper with whatever materials hide in your bag. It’s a really great way to ‘see’ a landscape by recording what interests the participant. What you need to know: • suitable for adults • some walking in the vicinity of the Servo involved, please wear suitable footwear, bring a hat and waterbottle. • please arrive 15 mins before the event starts • in the event of bad weather, the workshop will take place at The Servo undercover. Please bring: • a portable stool/camping chair that is easy to carry if you have one • loose papers or a small sketchbook and your favourite sketching media (pen, pencil, watercolour) but keep it simple! • the artist will supply additional papers and art materials.
