DARK MATTER LITERATURE CLUB: THE FOREWORD

An evening to discover what we're building, and connect through stories, ideas, and a playful book-themed activity. THE FOREWORD Dark Matter Literature Club Launch Gathering For our first gathering, we're putting the reading aside for a moment and focusing on getting to know each other. What to expect • A warm welcome: Get to know Dark Matter Literature Club, the idea behind the club, and how our reading gatherings will work. • Book-themed activity: Forget awkward introductions. We'll use books, unexpected questions, and playful conversation prompts to help you meet new people and discover shared interests. • A little literary mystery: Bring your favorite black-authored book. Here's the twist: wrap or cover your book before arriving so nobody can see its title, author, or cover. We'll use these mystery books as conversation starters during the gathering. The stories behind your choices are part of the fun, so keep yours a secret until it's time to reveal it! • Good conversations, new connections: Expect a relaxed atmosphere, interesting perspectives, and the chance to meet people who are just as curious about stories, ideas, and the world as you are. • Food & drinks: Feeling hungry? Food and drinks will be available to order and pay for directly at the venue. What to bring • One wrapped or covered book by a Black author. Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, essays, philosophy anything goes. • Your curiosity and an open mind. • Yourself, exactly as you are. Get to know us Curious about Dark Matter and what we're building?
