Handpan Workshop and Concert

Whether you're completely new to the instrument or simply curious to explore its sound, this 3-hour workshop is open to everyone. No musical experience is required, and a handpan is provided for every participant. During the workshop, we’ll explore the foundations of playing in a practical and accessible way: • how to create a clear, relaxed sound • basic handpan technique • simple rhythms and grooves • melodic patterns • coordination between both hands • playing together as a group • exploring improvisation and your own musical ideas The workshop takes place in the intimate setting of Studio Ôm, with time to take a short break, relax and connect with the group before the afternoon continues with a live handpan performance by Koné. SCHEDULE 14:00–15:30 — Workshop Part I Introduction to the instrument, sound, technique, rhythms and basic patterns. 15:30–16:00 — Break Time to relax, have a drink and connect with the group. 16:00–17:00 — Workshop Part II + Live Concert Continue exploring the instrument before settling in for an intimate live handpan performance by Koné. HANDPAN PROVIDED You do not need to own or bring a handpan. An instrument will be provided for every participant during the workshop. WHO IS IT FOR? The workshop is designed for beginners, but anyone curious about the handpan is welcome. No previous musical experience is required.
