Heritage Days - collage workshop: Brussels townhouses

This year’s theme, “Our Landscape, Our Legacy”, invites us to rediscover Brussels through its many landscapes and to reflect on how the city’s buildings, streets, public spaces and inhabitants shape the way we experience it. Join architectural illustrator Johanna Medvey for a creative collage workshop inspired by the Brussels townhouse (maison de maître) and the architectural heritage of the city. Participants will explore Brussels through images, shapes, colours and textures, creating their own imaginative Brussels landscape. Rather than simply reproducing buildings, the workshop encourages participants to look at the city from a new perspective and to compose a personal visual interpretation of its architectural heritage. Through collage, familiar streets and façades can be rearranged, transformed and brought together into a new urban landscape. The workshop is open to children aged 6-12, with no previous artistic experience required, and will be conducted in French, English and Hungarian. About Johanna Medvey Johanna Medvey is a visual artist based in Brussels. She celebrates the city's architectural heritage through her hand-drawn digital illustrations, and creates bespoke house portraits, editorial illustrations and cultural projects. Her work invites people to look more closely at the buildings and places that shape their everyday surroundings.
