Moussem Open Studio | Minenkulu Ngoyi & Nathaniel Sheppard III

Join us to discover the working methods of the two printmakers and visual artists, ahead of the Moussem Cities Johannesburg festival in Feb. The aim of Minenkulu Ngoyi and Nathaniel Sheppard III’s residency has been to produce connections, from different viewpoints: from the exchange of images, from symbols, from words, from histories both past and contemporary. In the past weeks, the two printmakers and visual artists have translated their research into the creation of a new body of works on paper, which will be shown during the Moussem Cities Johannesburg festival in February 2027. The open studio on Thursday the 12th of November forms an invitation to get to know the duo’s working methods and to join in on a conversation about their gaze; their way of isolating the psychology of visual and textual fragments in order to recombine them into a collage of meaning. Indirectly, what is at stake here are the politics of the body as its image figures in the media and in public space. A gaze from Johannesburg upon Brussels during what have been tumultuous weeks of revolts: the printing of a single letter, a word, a combination of images to produce connections. practical information when: Thursday November 12th 2026, from 18:00 on where: Moussem Studios - Espace Chimiste, Rue du Chimiste 16 1070 Anderlecht language: English Confirm your attendance with a free admission ticket!
