The Longest Table

The Longest Table brings 500+ people to one Long table to share a meal, get to know each other and build community. The inaugural event is scheduled for the full length of the Western Esplanade starting at sunset on Saturday, November 14, 2026. It is absolutely free. All it takes is for each table to have a captain who organises the food and beverage for that table of friends, family and/or colleagues – your teams can consist of as few or as many as you like, whether it is a company outing or even just one or two people looking to join the table. Each participant is encouraged to either bring a dish or partner with someone who does. Tables may have a menu theme – Italian, Greek, Sushi, standard American fare and, of course, traditional Bahamian. This is not about politics, religion, sponsors, fundraising; it is purely about community. And to confirm the message about community and unity, Her Excellency The Most Hon. Dame Cynthia Pratt, O.N., GCMG, Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, has graciously agreed to serve as Patron.
