Autumn Photography Workshop at Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan Areas!

Get ready for an absolutely epic, high-altitude photography adventure! Join me for an unforgettable morning capturing the stunning beauty of Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan, and the famous Artist Point area. We’re going to chase that perfect light and fill our memory cards with mountain majesty! Dawn Patrol: Picture Lake & Sunrise Magic! We're kicking things off bright and early to catch the legendary sunrise at Picture Lake! As the first golden rays hit the peak of Mt. Shuksan, we’ll be set up and ready. While we get situated, we’ll dive right into the good stuff: Light & Drama: Learning how to read the alpine light, use dynamic contrast, and add incredible mood and drama into your mountain photos. Composition & Scale: Discussing focal ranges, framing those grand visuals, and also finding beauty in the small, intimate details like foreground textures and reflections. Exploring the Peaks: Artist Point & Heather Meadows Once the sun is up, we’ll head further up to Artist Point! This location is pure magic. We’ll spend time walking the trails, photographing the beautiful alpine tarns (mountain lakes), getting different perspectives of Mt. Baker, and capturing anything else that catches our eye—the wildflowers, the winding trails, the sheer vastness! From there, we'll drive down to the Heather Meadows area to explore the lakes and river channels, continually discussing settings, exposure, and composition to ensure you leave with magazine-worthy shots. Stay Fueled & Focused! Since we’ll be out enjoying the views, please pack a sack lunch! We’ll take a break to enjoy the views and recharge before our final sessions. Important Note on Terrain: This is an alpine environment! There will be walking with some small elevation gains. Hiking poles are highly encouraged to keep steady on the trails. If you are uncomfortable with any walking area, don’t worry—there are plenty of incredible things to photograph close to the parking areas! I will be right there, by your side, to help with settings, answer any questions, and ensure you feel comfortable and confident every step of the way! Whether you’re learning a new technique or just want to practice your skills in an amazing location, this is the perfect opportunity. To make sure everyone gets the personalized attention they deserve, this workshop is strictly limited to 6-8 people. That means maximum one-on-one help for you! This is a great time to review the incredible photos you took, ask those lingering questions, and get friendly feedback and gentle critiques (if you’d like them!).
