It's in the Cards: Nightmares

A Halloween party with something to talk about—for Toronto’s 30s & 40s crowd One night. A room full of strangers. Everyone carrying a nightmare. A dimly lit alley leads to the hidden entrance of Moonlight Lounge, where we’ll be hosting It’s in the Cards: Nightmares—a Halloween social night for adults in their 30s and 40s+. Skip the small talk. Start with a nightmare. You don’t have to talk about yourself. Talk about what’s on your card. Everyone starts with a random nightmare scenario, like everyone at work winning millions in the lottery after you refused to join the office pool. Before the event, each nightmare is ranked from most to least tolerable. Your goal is to trade your way to a card you think ranked higher. Compare them, argue over which is worse and try to make a better trade. By the end of the night, you’ll know more about the people in the room than you expected. How does it work? 1. Receive a card Start with one randomly assigned nightmare—the only card you can’t finish the night with. 2. Discuss and trade Compare cards with people around the room and trade your way to a nightmare you think Toronto ranked as more tolerable. 3. Team up Join three other guests and submit your four cards. Toronto’s hidden rankings are revealed, and the two teams with the highest combined scores win prizes. Most guests come on their own. Once trading begins, everyone has a reason to move around the room and join different conversations. This is a social night—not a dating or networking event. Costumes are welcome, but not required. Tickets Tickets are $25 and increase to $35 during the final week. Appetizers are included. Plans change. You can receive a full refund, no questions asked, up to five days before the event.
