Christmas in Italy is more than a holiday. It is a celebration of family, tradition and the pleasure of gathering around the table. This December, Chef Maria invites you to discover the Christmas traditions of Emilia-Romagna, one of Italy's most celebrated culinary regions, where handmade pasta, rich broths, festive roasts and cherished family recipes have been passed down through generations. For one special evening, our little gastronomia in Toronto will welcome just 10 guests for an intimate Christmas dinner featuring eight traditional dishes served across five moments. From delicate cappelletti in capon broth to handcrafted pumpkin cappellacci and festive stuffed capon, every dish reflects our passion for authentic regional Italian cooking. Our Christmas Menu ANTIPASTI — To Begin Gnocco Fritto con Mortadella Bologna Traditional golden-fried Emilian bread served with Mortadella Bologna. Erbazzone Reggiano A traditional savoury pastry filled with leafy greens and cheese, inspired by the culinary heritage of Reggio Emilia. PRIMI — Handmade Pasta Cappelletti in Brodo di Cappone Delicate handmade stuffed pasta served in a rich, traditional capon broth. Cappellacci di Zucca Ferraresi Handmade pumpkin-filled pasta from Ferrara, served with butter and sage. SECONDI — Festive Specialties Cappone Ripieno della Tradizione Traditional Italian stuffed capon, slowly roasted and served with its natural cooking juices. Tortino di Patate e Porcini A savoury potato and porcini mushroom tartlet, accompanied by a delicate shallot sauce. CONTORNO — Seasonal Side Finocchi Gratinati Oven-baked fennel with a golden, savoury gratin. DOLCE — A Christmas Tradition Panettone con Crema al Mascarpone e Arancia Traditional Italian Christmas panettone served with mascarpone cream and orange. An Optional Italian Wine Pairing Enhance your Christmas dinner with a specially selected pairing featuring: • Two Italian wines chosen to complement the menu • Aranciù, an Italian orange digestif, served with dessert Wine Pairing: $40 per person, available separately from the dinner ticket.
