RUN FOR THE GIRLS 2026 (Girls Run & Community Run)

PLEASE READ ALL EVENT DETAILS BEFORE REGISTERING AND CHOOSING TICKET TYPES. Girls Forward is proud to present RUN FOR THE GIRLS. An event that combines celebration and fundraising that is for the girls, by the girls. Whether you run, jog, or walk, we want you to join us! This event will bring together: 1) Girls from within and outside of our Built to Run running programs for a Girls Run (girls ages 4-13) and 2) Any folks (youth and adults, any gender, ages 14+) for a Community Run who share the same passion as Girls Forward for empowering girls through running. Strollers permitted. With both runs happening one after the other, it will truly be a morning filled with empowerment as Community Run participants will have the opportunity to cheer on Girls Run participants while they run and vice versa. After the runs, your ticket will also give you access to Post-run Activation Stations for some more fun together! Proceeds from ticket sales, donations, and fundraising efforts will go directly back into our programming and events that create spaces where girls discover their strength, find their voice, and develop into tomorrow’s leaders. When you donate to Girls Forward, you’re investing in girls’ confidence, well-being, and futures. Distances: • GIRLS RUN: 1 km or 2.5 km for girls ages 4-13 (choose ONE distance) • COMMUNITY RUN: 5 km for youth, any gender, ages 14-18 • COMMUNITY RUN: 5 km for adults, any gender, ages 19+ When: Saturday October 24th Time: 9:15am - 2pm (see FULL SCHEDULE below) Where: Downsview Park - Orchard Pavilion (70 Canuck Ave, North York) • Check-in at the Orchard Pavilion (access to washroom, water fountains, outdoor but with roof covering) • Run will occur on the Circuit Path loop (paved ground, outdoors) • Free parking available at South Parking Lot (with additional free parking further away at Downsview Park main lot) • Visuals of the area are below What's included: • Race bib • Girls Forward t-shirt • Swag bag with goodies! • Lunch • Snacks • Access to POST-RUN ACTIVATION STATIONS: Including face painting, henna, yoga station, info/sales booths (from Help a Girl Out, FreshFaces skincare, Hettas footwear, and more!) Full Schedule for GIRLS RUN You will be notified via email if any changes are made to the schedule. • 9:15 AM - Check-in opens (get shirt, race bib, meet your Girls Forward Role Models and fellow runners, make cheer posters) • 9:55 AM - Welcome to Girls Forward / Group Photo • 10:00 AM - Warm up with Canadian track Olympian Sadé McCreath • 10:15 AM - GIRLS RUN (1km and 2.5km simultaneously) • Cool Down with At Root Wellness once all girls are finished running (approx 10:45/11:00 AM) • After Cool Down - Receive your swag bag and snacks • 11:15 AM - Cheer on COMMUNITY RUN • 11:30 AM - Post-run Activation Stations begin • 12:30 PM - Lunch arrives • 1:45 PM - Raffle draw • 2:00 PM - Post-run activations end / Event conclusion / Closing remarks Full Schedule for COMMUNITY RUN You will be notified via email if any changes are made to the schedule. • 9:15 AM - Check-in opens (get shirt and race bib, make cheer posters) • 10:15 AM - Cheer on the GIRLS RUN • 10:55 AM - Welcome to Girls Forward / Group Photo • 11:00 AM - Warm up • 11:15 AM - COMMUNITY RUN (youth 14-18 and adults 19+ run together) • Cool down • After Cool-down - Receive your swag bag and snacks • Post-run Activation Stations open at 11:30 and can be accessed whenever the cool down ends • 12:30 PM - Lunch arrives • 1:45 PM - Raffle draw • 2:00 PM - Post-run activations end / Event conclusion / Closing remarks FAQs (frequently asked questions) Will Girls Forward be offering child care? • No. Girls Forward is NOT offering child care for any minors. There will be staff on-site at all times and participants running in GIRLS RUN will have Girls Forward Role Models (women, ages 21+) checking them into the event and running with them, HOWEVER, Girls Forward is NOT solely responsible for supervising any minors, especially not after the running portion of the day concludes. Parents/guardians/trusted adults of minors are encouraged to stay for the event and supervise their minors, and must pick them up once the event concludes at 2pm ET. Will all participants in both runs have the same access to the Post-run Activations? • Yes! Can someone participate in the Post-run Activation Stations if they do not have a ticket for either of the runs? • No. But we will have an option on-site to purchase a wristband for $5 that will give you access to the stations (for example, if you have a child under 4y/o who wants to get their face painted and henna). Will all participants in both runs will have the same access to the provided lunch? • Yes! It will arrive around 12:30pm near the Orchard Pavilion where you check-in. Does the event end at the same time for both runs? • Yes! At 2pm. Can parents run in GIRLS RUN? • No, only girls ages 4-13 can run the GIRLS RUN. Girls Forward Role Models, women 21+, will be running alongside the girls to ensure both fun and safety. Can I walk or jog? • Yes! This applies to all runs and distances. You are not obligated to run as we encourage you to listen to your body and appreciate what it is able to do! Can I bring my stroller for the COMMUNITY RUN? • Yes! There will be an option to inform us of this in the order form. This only applies to the COMMUNITY RUN and not GIRLS RUN. Can my dog or other pets run with me on the course? • No. Pets of any kind are not permitted during the runs, but are permitted at the event in general.
