ALLTIMATE BAND — SWING Jazz NIGHT

Up-tempo live jazz, vintage energy and music that actually makes you want to get out of your chair. Think less formal concert, more of that We’re trying something a little different at GULBAR. If you’ve never been to a swing night, think live jazz — but the kind you’re not really supposed to sit still through. Swing grew out of the jazz clubs and dance halls of the 1930s and ’40s, and the culture around it is still very much alive today — including right here in Calgary, where there’s a dedicated community built around social dancing, Lindy Hop, Balboa and live jazz. On October 23, Madhu Band brings that energy into GULBAR: upbeat rhythms, swinging jazz and a dance floor that’s actually meant to be used. Madhu Aul sax - vocals Neil Henry - piano Adam Petrigrew - bass Doug Paddock - drums 📅 Friday, October 23 🎟 Presale — $10 online through October 22 🎟 General Admission — $23 on October 16 & at the door You do not need to know how to swing dance to come. Grab a drink, listen to the band, watch the dancers, try a few steps if the mood hits — or just enjoy a Friday night that feels a little more like an old-school jazz club than your usual night out. Live band. Cocktails. Dancing. A little vintage energy in the middle of downtown Calgary.
