Compassion in Action: Packaged Snack Collection Drive & Documentary Screening

Join us for an afternoon dedicated to community care, local action, and meaningful connection at the Seton Calgary Public Library. The Compassion in Action series turns our collective energy toward supporting the broader Calgary Community. We believe compassion is a practice that extends to everyone in our local community and would like to partner with community organizations making a difference in the world. Event Details When: Sunday, September 27, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM Where: Seton Library (Program Room), 4995 Market St, Calgary, AB Capacity: Limited to 60 attendees Admission Ask: We are partnering with Be The Change YYC, an incredible outreach organization working directly on the front lines to serve Calgary’s vulnerable population, to do a snack donation drive. They are currently looking to stock their snack closet with portable, non-perishable items. We ask every attendee to bring a box or package of individually wrapped items, such as: Granola bars Chips Cookies Dried fruit Single-serve nuts or seeds Any other individually packaged, non-perishable snacks Every single package donated goes directly onto the streets to help a neighbour in need. What to Expect Documentary Screening: We will screen a powerful short documentary centred on community compassion and grassroots action. Roundtable Discussion: Following the film, we will host guided roundtable conversations to explore how we can support our neighbours, foster local empathy, and make Calgary a kinder place for everyone. Community Connection: Meet fellow Calgarians who share a drive for practical, hands-on community care.
