Some coffees are worth slowing down for. This is one of them. Join us for a morning with a truly rare coffee: a Geisha grown by Yeison Burbano at Finca Buenos Aires, high in the Andes of San Pedro de Cartago, Nariño. In October 2025 it won La Mejor Taza Nariño — "The Best Cup" — scoring 89.5 points and selling for $USD150.50 a pound, a national record for coffee in Colombia. Buyers from eleven countries went in on it together. Now it's landed in Edmonton, and we're pouring it. This is a casual tasting flight, not a lecture. Pull up a seat, taste the coffee brewed a few different ways, and let the flavours do the talking. We'll share the story behind the cup as you taste: how it's grown, why anaerobic-washed Geisha tastes the way it does, and what a coffee like this means for the farmers of Nariño, where specialty coffee is quietly rebuilding a region. To round it out, each pour is paired with a food pairing, chosen to bring out the coffee's brighter, sweeter notes. Whether you're a devoted coffee nerd or just curious what a record-setting cup actually tastes like, you'll leave with a new favourite and a good story.
