About this event

A gathering for women in Edmonton working in male-dominated industries.

Full description from organizer

A room for women in Edmonton who spend their days outnumbered. Overview Real Conversations. Genuine Connections. A Community That Elevates. This isn't your typical networking event. And that's exactly the point. At Elevate Women in Industry (EWI), our monthly gatherings are about something far more meaningful than exchanging business cards, delivering elevator pitches, or making sales. There is no selling in the room. No pressure to pitch your business. No hidden agendas. Instead, we're creating a space where women can come together, share their experiences, learn from one another, and build genuine relationships rooted in mutual respect and support. Our gatherings bring together women from a wide range of industries, backgrounds, and career stages, with a shared belief that we all have something valuable to contribute and something new to learn. Through honest conversations, guest speakers with lived experience, practical advice, we explore the challenges, opportunities, and realities of navigating our professional and personal lives. What makes EWI different? • Connection over transactions. We're here to build relationships, not collect contacts. • Collaboration over competition. We believe there's room for everyone to succeed. • Real conversations. A welcoming environment where women can speak openly, ask questions, and share their experiences. • Learning from each other. Practical advice, fresh perspectives, and lessons from women who've been there. • Genuine support. Celebrating wins, navigating challenges, and encouraging one another to keep growing. While EWI was founded with a focus on supporting women working in predominantly male industries, our gatherings welcome women from all industries and walks of life. Different perspectives make our community stronger. You don't need to have all the answers. You don't need a polished introduction. And you certainly don't need a sales pitch. Just come as you are, bring your experiences, your curiosity, and a willingness to connect. Because at EWI, we believe the most valuable thing you can walk away with isn't a stack of business cards. It's knowing you've found a community of women who genuinely want to see you succeed. We rise by supporting one another. What happens in the room Each Elevate session brings a speaker on something practical. Mindset. Finances. HR situations. Career progression. Not motivational fluff. The kind of topic you can use on Monday morning. After the speaker, the room opens up. This is the part that makes Elevate different. Not a venting circle. A working session where the room helps each other solve what's actually in front of us. You bring the situation. The room brings ideas. You leave with something useful. Meet the Speakers Kimberley Hiebert is the CEO and co-founder of Door Gurus, a mobile door-service franchise, and the founder and host of Found-HER, a podcast for female founders navigating the challenges of building businesses. An Edmonton-based entrepreneur with more than 30 years of business-building experience, she brings a people-first perspective to leadership, franchising, and business growth. What you walk away with You walk in knowing you have been the only woman in your shop, your site, or your office. You walk out knowing there is a room full of women who have lived the same things, and that you can talk to them again. That shift matters. We carry a lot quietly because we do not want to seem like we cannot handle it. This is the room where we say it out loud and figure out what to do about it together. Practical info When: Wednesday, Nov 25th, 2026, 6 PM to 9 PM Where: TBA Tickets: $28.07 Cannot make this one? Elevate is a community, not a one-off event. Let us know at the door if you prefer to stay off camera. Meet the founder I'm Holly Pickard. I spent 20+ years in the trades, starting as the only woman in my automotive technician class. I worked from the shop floor to management to senior management to a company partnership. I have been underestimated, harassed, and told I do not belong. I stayed. I built a career. And for 20+ years I looked for a room like this and never found it. When I started talking to other women, I realized it was not just tradeswomen who needed it. So I built Elevate for all of us.
