7th Step NS - Yellow Ribbon Run

We hope to see neighbors running alongside former offenders, breaking down walls of fear and judgment. In Canada, the barriers facing those releasing from prison are often invisible but impassable. We call this the "second prison"—the social stigma, the lack of housing, and the closed doors of employment that drive recidivism rates up. The 7th Step Society has spent decades helping individuals help themselves. But we know that reintegration is a two-way street: the individual must be willing to change, but the community must be willing to receive them and support them in building a new citizen identity. We are running to help people shed the label of "offender" and put on the identity of "neighbor," "employee," and "community builder." Come run with us together in community!
