Gather & Ground: A Mini Thermal Retreat

Learn about thermal wellness practices and connect with one another in nature. Join us for an afternoon of learning and gentle practice. The day will start with a workshop designed to help you better understand thermal cycling and hydrotherapy, including how contrast therapy works with the body’s stress response, and how connecting with nature and the elements can deepen that process. Throughout the workshop you will learn practical options and suggestions for simple, no and low-cost options you can practice at home. After enjoying lunch together, you’ll be given the chance to explore and practice what you’ve learned at your own pace. Enjoy a nature walk, participate in guided reflection and journalling, and of course, a facilitated thermal wellness journey in our wood-fired sauna by the water. Guided cycles of heat and cold, and time to simply rest offer an embodied practice for stress and emotional regulation, at whatever pace feels right for you, shared together as a group. Every part of the day is optional. If something doesn't feel right for you in the moment, you are welcome to come in and out as needed. Gather & Ground is designed to work for every comfort level. All you need is curiosity, and some gear. There will be a waiver onsite to sign. If you have any questions or specific needs, please contact us to learn more.
