Join us for a fun, festive afternoon where you’ll design, paint, and decorate your very own faux gingerbread house to display in your home for the holiday season. Using paint, faux icing made with modeling paste, faux candy, gems, and lots of fun decorations, you’ll transform your house into a sweet holiday masterpiece! Get creative with traditional gingerbread house colours or dream up your own unique design. The possibilities are endless! ✨ No baking, no mess in your kitchen, and no artistic experience needed! Just bring your creativity and get ready for a fun, hands-on crafting experience. 📅 Date: Sunday, November 15, 2026 📍 Location: Findlay Community Centre 26 Elliot Street, Dartmouth, NS B2Y 2X7 ⏰ Time: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Whether you’re looking for a fun holiday outing, a creative afternoon with friends, or a unique handmade decoration for your home, this workshop is the perfect way to kick off the festive season! 🎨 All decorating supplies are included! A photo of the blank wooden gingerbread house will be added once the final design is confirmed. I'm currently looking into having custom houses made or purchasing alternative holiday houses from Michaels. Either way, the houses will be at least 6–7 inches tall! Each house will also come with a wooden base so you can create your own snowy yard, complete with candy canes and other festive decorations. 🎄🍬 ☕ Light refreshments will also be provided, including coffee, tea, soda water, and snacks such as cheese, crackers, veggies, dips, and baked goods. Please email [email protected] with any food allergies or dietary restrictions before the event. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Our Child & Attendance Policy To help us manage room capacity and ensure there are enough supplies for everyone, please review our ticket policy before booking: • Each child participating in the craft must have their own paid craft ticket. • Parents/guardians attending with a child can purchase a seating-holder ticket. This reserves their seat but does not include craft supplies. It include a fee to cover food cost. • Babies who do not require their own seat or craft supplies do not need a ticket. • Parents/guardians must remain with their children for the duration of the event. This is not a drop-off event. • Bringing multiple children who want to participate? Each child needs their own paid craft ticket. Please ensure you select the correct tickets when registering so we can prepare enough supplies and seating for everyone! 🧼 A Note About Cleanup Crafting can get messy, and cleaning up afterward can be a lot of work! Don't worry, though—we'll take care of the cleanup. I'll begin tidying up around 6:30 PM, so please plan to have your gingerbread house finished and your crafting supplies packed away by the end of the event at 7:00 PM. Although we've rented Sullivan's Hall until 8:00 PM, the event ends at 7:00 PM, and everyone must be ready to leave by then. The extra time allows me to finish cleaning the space before our rental period ends. All we ask is that everyone helps keep the space safe and that little ones are supervised around small decorations, glitter, and other craft supplies. Please don't let children handle glitter or small decorative items unsupervised. ♿ Accessibility Findlay Community Centre is fully accessible, with a ramp and elevator providing access to the main floor. Our event will take place in Sullivan’s Hall. When you enter through the building’s front entrance, please ask the staff at the front desk for directions to the room.
