Spooky RPG One-Shots at the Board Room Game Cafe!

Join us for Spooky One-Shots in a variety of Role Playing Game systems! Treats for those who come in costume! Join us for an evening of spooky games and fun! We've recruited some of our amazing volunteer Game Masters from TTRPG Tuesday to run some awesome Spooky Role-Playing Game One-Shots! NO TTRPG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! To participate in this event, review the options of the different games below and sign up for a seat at the table that interests you the most! We'll also be giving away some treats for those who come in costume, so bring a pillow case to collect your candy, and get ready for an evening of tricks, treats and terrifying TTRPGs! Admission is $10 each (+tax and Eventbrite fees), granting everyone access to both the event, and our collection of 700+ board games before and after the event (provided there is space)! Please note, these Halloween Spooky TTRPG games may not be suitable for all ages due to some mature themes in these horror settings. Hook: With the rising of the Blood Moon, the accursed abode of the Blood King returns to this world. The lord of all vampires comes to claim the blood that is owed to him. His halls contain treasures and secrets that would make any ambitious adventurer abandon reason and caution to seek them out. Will you risk your soul for gold and glory in the Halls of the Blood King? 2-time 2021 ENNIE award winner for Best Adventure and Best Cartography. ---------- GM: Ron (Dungeons Delivered) System: Dungeons & Dragons 5E 2024 Style/tone: Mystery/Horror/Skirmish Players: Up to 4 Characters: Pre-generated characters will be provided, or bring your own level 5 character using the 2024 D&D Player's Handbook! Age: Teens and Up Hook: Castle in the Woods: Your party has been commissioned to purify the cursed grounds of an abandoned castle rumored to hold rare artifacts. The keep rests deep in the dark forbidden woods, far from where anyone can hear you scream. ---------- GM: Ben System: Alien The RPG Style/tone: SciFi/Horror Players: Up to 5 Start Time: 6pm Ages: Teens and Up Characters: Pre-generated characters will be provided, but you can make your own Hook: You are a colonist of Hadley's Hope, a "shake and bake" terraforming and mining colony, the other day a scout returned infected with something but you still have a job to do. Happy to get away from the developing situation at the colony you are sent on a routine survey run. A day has passed since your last brief call with Hadley's Hope and attempts to contact have been fruitless and supplies are running out. Will you survive "Hopes Last Day"? ---------- GM: Aries System: Dungeons & Dragons 5E Style/tone: Obojima Setting - Japanese folklore inspired Players: Up to 6 Start Time: 6pm Ages: All ages See note below for players under 14 Characters: Pre-generated characters will be provided, or bring your own level 1 character Hook: Chaos beneath the Crawling Canopy: Everyone on the island of Obojima knows the legend of the Crawling Canopy; a living curse of a forest that moves across the fields in unknowable patterns. Your party finds themselves suddenly lost in the twisted trees and missing a friend. Can you rescue your friend from among the slithering roots and swinging branches of this breathing, hungry wood before it devours you? ---------- GM: Zach G System: The Forest Hymn & Picnic Style/tone: Cozy Autumnal Whimsy Players: Up to 6 Start Time: 6pm Ages: Teens and Up Characters: Pre-generated characters provided Hook: On Halloween night, you and your friends took a bet that you couldn't resist! If you can spend the night in the woods, you each get a whole box of full sized candy bars. You trekked out to the woods only to find it deeper and weirder than you could have possibly imagined. Hook: While traveling through the foggy streets of the Village of Barovia, the party encounters two shivering children, Rose and Thorn. They are crying on the street corner, begging for help. The children claim a "monster" is trapped inside their house, and their baby brother, Walter, is still up in the nursery. Watching the mist close in, swallowing up the rest of the village. As more buildings disappear into the mist, you are left with little choice but to seek refuge in the house.
