First-ever national tour! Free 1-hour CPR, choking and opioid poisoning workshop. Spots are limited: get your free ticket now. TRAIN THE NEXT HERO GOES NATIONAL! FIRST-EVER NATIONAL TOUR: 6 CITIES. 15 DAYS. ONE NATION OF HEROES. Since 2018, "Train the Next Hero!", presented by Coast2Coast First Aid & Aquatics, has brought free, hands-on First Aid & CPR training to the community, and nearly 3,000 people have registered so far. In 2026, for the first time ever, we are taking it coast to coast: Calgary, Edmonton, Windsor, North York, Ottawa and Halifax. This free workshop takes place on November 28th at our Coast2Coast Halifax training centre, the grand finale of Train the Next Hero 2026. Be part of it and become one of Canada's next heroes! The workshop is completely free, but spots are limited. Everyone must get their ticket online before they sell out. One ticket per person. Multiple or duplicate bookings will be cancelled. Date: Saturday, November 28, 2026, 10 AM to 7 PM (local time) Location: Coast2Coast First Aid & Aquatics Halifax 6496 Chebucto Rd (inside the Sylvan Learning Centre), Halifax, NS B3L 1L3 Registration: Registration is now open! A ticket is required to attend. Why Train the Next Hero? Train the Next Hero was born in North York after the Yonge Street van attack on April 23, 2018. We believe that if more of the people around that day had been trained in first aid and CPR, some of the victims would have had a better chance of survival. We held the first Train the Next Hero at Mel Lastman Square less than a month later, and nearly 3,000 people have registered for the event since. In 2026, we are taking that mission across Canada. What We Will Teach: • CPR and AED: how to give chest compressions and how to use an automated external defibrillator • Choking: how to recognize choking and help someone who cannot breathe • Opioid poisoning: how to recognize an opioid poisoning and what to do until help arrives What To Expect: • A hands-on, 1-hour workshop led by our professional instructors • Small groups, so everyone gets time to practise on a CPR manikin • Clear, simple steps you can use in a real emergency Ticket Information: Tickets are reserved based on workshop starting times. Entry is completely FREE, but spots are limited, so get your ticket online before they sell out. Each workshop lasts 1 hour. PLEASE READ: • No walk-ins. You must have a ticket to attend, and you must show your ticket (digital or printed) at the entrance. • 1 email, 1 ticket. Each person needs their own ticket, registered with their own email address. Duplicate orders with the same email will be voided. • Be on time. Space is limited. If you arrive late, you will miss your session and you cannot join another time slot. • Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in and sign the participation waiver. • We will take photos and video at the event. Filming is optional, and we will ask for your separate consent before you appear in any content we publish. Time Slots: • 10 AM - 11 AM • 11 AM - 12 PM • 12 PM - 1 PM • 1 PM - 2 PM • 3 PM - 4 PM • 4 PM - 5 PM • 5 PM - 6 PM • 6 PM - 7 PM Ticket Includes: • CPR and AED • Choking • Opioid Poisoning ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Why is there no certificate? This free 1-hour workshop is an introduction to the skills that matter most in the first minutes of an emergency, not a full certification course. A full Canadian Red Cross certification needs more time than a single hour allows: typically 4 to 8 hours of in-class training, plus a similar amount of online learning for blended courses, followed by a hands-on skills assessment. A special offer for participants: As a thank-you for taking part, every workshop participant will receive a special discount on Canadian Red Cross certification courses with Coast2Coast First Aid & Aquatics. Details will be shared at the event. To explore our courses, visit www.c2cfirstaidaquatics.com or call us at 1-866-291-9121. Please wear comfortable clothing, since CPR practice happens on the floor. RESERVE YOUR FREE TICKET ON EVENTBRITE. NO WALK-INS: PLEASE SHOW YOUR TICKET AT THE ENTRANCE AND ARRIVE ON TIME.
