Italian Film Night - Le Cose Non Dette

A Roman couple's trip to Morocco with friends turns tense when his secret young lover arrives, exposing the cracks beneath their lives. Carlo and Elisa are a successful couple living in Rome. He is a university professor and novelist struggling with creative paralysis; she is a sharp, internationally respected journalist. Their lives move between achievement, intimacy, and a quiet sense of distance beginning to grow. Hoping for renewal, they travel to Morocco with close friends Anna and Paolo, and their thirteen-year-old daughter Vittoria, intelligent, curious, and unsettlingly observant. Beneath the surface, tensions slowly emerge: Anna feels confined by motherhood, Paolo withdraws into silence, and Vittoria develops an unexpectedly intense fascination with Carlo. Then Blu, Carlo’s twenty-three-year-old student and secret lover, arrives, exposing the fragile cracks between them. Presented in partnership with ICFF. Featuring Stefano Accorsi, Miriam Leone, Claudio Santamaria, Carolina Crescentini. Directed by Gabriele Muccino. An Italian director and screenwriter known for emotionally driven dramas about family, love, and personal transformation. He gained international acclaim with films such as L’ultimo bacio (2001) and The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), starring Will Smith, which brought him global recognition. Muccino’s storytelling often focuses on complex relationships and the emotional consequences of life choices. His films balance intimate character moments with universal themes of ambition, regret, and reconciliation. With Le cose non dette, Muccino returns to a deeply human narrative, exploring the fragility of friendship and the lingering impact of secrets that remain unspoken.
